Editing
Whether you are looking to submit to an agent, or planning to publish independently – I can help you transform your book into a page-turner.
I love to champion authors, advise on the shape and structure of their work and help them to create compelling stories. I specialise in fiction and have worked with authors in many different genres: women's fiction, rom-com, crime and sci-fi. As a writer myself, I have experience of every stage of the editing process and know the importance of getting a manuscript just right.
I offer two editing services:
Manuscript Spring Clean - ideal for first drafts
I will read your manuscript and provide a written report with suggestions for the book. I will look at the big picture structure, plot, pace and character arcs and help you to create dramatic, character-driven plots.
£600 for up to 75,000 words. £800 for up to 100,000 words.
Developmental Edit - perfect for second drafts
I will take a deep dive into your manuscript and provide a detailed editorial report with inline comments where relevant. I will look at structure, plot, pace, character arcs, voice, point of view, dialogue, setting, description and atmosphere. The report will support you to hone and polish the story and strengthen characterisation and structure.
£900 for up to 75,000 words. £1,200 for up to 100,000 words.
Which service is right for you?
I always invite interested authors to send me the first 5,000 words of their manuscript. We can then meet on Zoom to discuss which service would be the most useful.
If you would like to know more, please contact me on liztreacher@gmail.com. I look forward to helping you with your book!
Feedback from authors
Your astute comments and insightfulness teased a far better opening for my novel and I can't thank you enough. You're such a joy to work with too, championing whilst offering honest advice. I'll be recommending you to all my writer friends.
